Introduction Authorship & Acknowledgements

The purpose of this project is to make universally available information about U.S. copyright infringement cases from the mid-ninteenth century on. The project has initially focused on copyright cases involving musical works, but it will expand to cover cases that have involved other genres of copyrightable works.

UCLA Law School now sponsors and houses this project. The Media Institute in Washington, D.C. is funding maintenance and development of the site at UCLA through the Law School's Intellectual Property Project. The UCLA Law Library and the Information Technology Department at the Law School are also supporting this work.

We recommend that those who link to this project update their webpages using the UCLA project URL in the address bar above this page.
